BOROUGH MANAGER’S REPORT

Lynda reported that Tonya Gerner was planning on attending, however, with the uncertainty of having a quorum, she did not attend. Tonya broke her ankle, however, she is anticipating coming into the office to start to go over some things with Lynda.

Lynda reported that the Shoey Pool will be opening again and Tonya will be re-certifying the lifeguards for them.

Lynda questioned what was happening with Community Day. We have not heard anything. We did not have any meetings due to the lack of quorum.

Lynda reported that the baby pool is leaking, the plaster is coming off and the engineer suggests getting the plaster off and repainting it – it is in bad shape. We will be getting a cost estimate for this project.

No committee reports were presented.

OLD BUSINESS

It was decided that we would advertise for the first Monday of the month for the rest of 2001. However, if there is no business to conduct or no quorum we can cancel the meeting at that time.

Glenn questioned the $10 per game charge for the baseball teams. Lynda stated that this charge was for the cost of the utilities (water, sewer, electricity)

Glenn reported that the teams would like to build a concession/announcing booth – this is in the works for next year – they will be getting prices and will present it to the Property Committee.

Glenn reported that Coke is willing to pay for an electric scoreboard – at a cost of approximately $10,000. The Lions Club is attempting to obtain a grant for this project rather than having Coke pay for it. This is also a project for next year and the project will be presented to the Property Committee.

Glenn reported that the ballteams would like to enclose the area where the extra dirt is kept and use it as storage.

Glenn reported that he started to trim some of the trees at the tow path, however, the area where he wanted to do more trimming is under water due to all the rain we received.

Glenn stated that the basketball courts are being used heavily. He questioned if there were any more nets around. Lynda will check with Tonya or Ricky.

Scott questioned if all the personnel have been hired for the season. Lynda stated that for the most part everyone is hired, there are a few stragglers that need to be interviewed, but we have enough to open.

Glenn reported that someone is using an ATV along the tow path

Glenn reported that the parking area that was made for the path is being utilized as a private parking lot for the property across the street. Lynda may send a courtesy letter to them asking them to refrain from parking there.

Glenn stated that along the path, there are some large concrete pieces, appears to be from an old pool, they are ugly – can’t we do something about them.

Lynda stated that they would probably be taken care of when the greenway puts in the path and it becomes part of the walkway.

Anna requested a copy of the 5 year plan – Kim will see that she gets it.

NEW BUSINESS
