TRASH COLLECTION DAYS

Trash is collected in the north ward on Mondays (effective 1/1/08) and in the south ward on Thursdays.

There is a four (4) bag limit per unit.  Any amount of trash over the limit will be left behind.  In addition, no bulk items or demolition material will be taken.  You must make arrangements with a private trash collector for these items.    Our current trash contractor is Allied Waste.

      RECYCLING COLLECTION DAYS  

Recycling is collected on Wednesdays throughout the Borough of Hamburg.

1^st and 3^rd Wednesdays - Aluminum cans, glass, tin and plastic (numbered 1 & 2 only)

2^nd and 4^th Wednesdays - Newspapers, magazines and corrugated cardboard -tied or bundled

Yard waste will be collected seasonally on Saturdays.  There is no limit to the number of bags or containers.

Yard Waste - May through December

Whenever a fifth (5^th) Wednesday falls within a month there is no recycling collection.

Recyclables must be placed in borough provided blue containers in order that the recycling contractor will collect them.  Two containers are permitted for each unit.  If they become broken, return them to the Borough Office to receive a new one.  Please label your container with the address, not the name, in case the container is misplaced it may be possible to have it returned to you.  If a resident moves, the container shall remain with the property.

STREET SWEEPING DATES FOR 2008 
SIGNS ARE LEGALLY POSTED IN THE AFFECTED AREAS.  THE TIME OF OPERATION OF THE STREET SWEEPER WILL BE FROM 4 A.M. TO 6 A.M.  PARKING IS PROHIBITED ON THE STREETS LISTED BELOW DURING THIS TIME PERIODS, SO THAT THE BOROUGH MAY CLEAN THE STREETS.  ANYONE WHO IS IN VIOLATION DURING THIS TIME PERIOD WILL BE ISSUED A PARKING TICKET WHICH CARRIES A FINE OF $20.00 AND COSTS OF PROSECUTION.  A POLICE OFFICER WILL BE CHECKING ALL THESE LOCATIONS FOR VIOLATIONS.
