MINUTES FROM THE SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING OF MARCH 20, 2008 There was a special meeting of the Hamburg Borough Council held this evening at the Hamburg Municipal Center with President Tammy Wilkinson presiding. This meeting was in reference issues related to the redevelopment area in the borough. MEMBERS PRESENT: Tammy Wilkinson, Roger Stetzler, Jeanette Heckman, Martha Bertolet, Dale Schlenker and Heather Berger MEMBERS ABSENT: Elaine Swavely ALSO PRESENT: Solicitor Gombar and Solicitor Gavin, Kim Y. Berger, Recording Secretary-Office Manager VISITORS: Jeffrey Walters, Naunee Wessner, Michelle Park (Reading Eagle) A motion was made by Dale Schlenker and seconded by Roger Stetzler to approve the agenda. NAYES – None COURTESY TO THE AUDIENCE Jeffrey Walters, resident of Washington Street was present to question what was happening with the halfway house that is supposed to be moving into the old Wright’s building. He stated that he was very concerned because of all the children living in the area as well as the money that he has spent fixing up his house and if the halfway house comes into the area, his property value will go down. Solicitor Gombar stated that there has been nothing submitted to the borough
regarding any development in the Wrights area. The Council found out about it as
everyone else did when there was an article in the newspaper. No plans have been
received. Nothing NEW BUSINESS Nothing SOLICITORS REPORT An executive session was held from 4:07 p.m. to 5:14 p.m. to discuss potential litigation. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 5:15 p.m. on motion of Jeanette Heckman and seconded by Heather Berger.
